Volo
In what way can drivers become part of autonomous driving? How can they influence the process?
As part of the "Smart Mobility" squad, we developed Volo. Volo is a communication system that allows passengers to communicate their wishes to the car through intuitive haptic interaction. By moving the button, passengers can suggest speed, style, route, or other preferences, such as: Taking a break from the journey.
The feedback system, moving panels, informs passengers about their surroundings and gives additional feedback on what desires can be met by the system immediately and which proposals require different requirements for safety reasons.
This project was exhibited as part of the Dutch Design Week 2017 and subsequently as part of an exhibition at Museum TwentseWelle in Enschede, The Netherlands.
